Materials Week Europe 2026

A place where the science of materials meets the power of imagination.

OmniChain Nexus is excited to invite innovators, manufacturers, visionaries and curious minds from across the globe to spark new ideas and forge the future of modern industries. Materials Week Europe has been created to bring together the brightest minds and leading events – Speciality Polymers World, The Gasket & Seals Show, Silicon Expo, The Magnetics Show, and High Entropy Alloy Expo into one unstoppable force for progress.

Here, we celebrate bold discoveries, heroic feats of engineering, and real-world breakthroughs. Each event serves as a unique arena, with its own champion and story, united by the league’s mission: To inspire resilience, sustainability, and collaboration, paving the way for a smarter, stronger tomorrow.

Axiom: Guardian of Innovation

In the lead up to Speciality Polymers World, brilliant scientist Dr. Adrian Vey unveiled his most daring creation – the Axiom Polymer. The ground-breaking material, capable of reorganising its structure at will, responds to heat, pressure, light, and even thought patterns.

During the product launch, a sudden sabotage disrupted the event, unleashing a catastrophic chain reaction. In the chaos, Adrian attempted to stabilise the core prototype, but the polymer, unstable yet alive with potential, reacted directly with his body and mind – fusing with him on a molecular level – transforming him permanently into Axiom.

Now Axiom walks between two worlds: the scientist and the superhero, the innovator and the protector. His life-mission to protect innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, standing as the symbol of the exhibition’s spirit: that with resilience and creativity, humanity can shape a stronger, smarter future.

Gasketron: Defender of Integrity

Meet Greg Stanton, once a hardworking repair technician locating and fixing leaks in the city’s ageing infrastructure. He spent long nights inside labyrinthine pipelines, learning the true power of the gaskets, seals, and valves – believing them to be the true defenders against disaster.

One stormy night at The Gasket & Seals Show, Greg was implementing a new pressure-resistant smart gasket when a sudden, devastating earthquake struck the city. Without hesitation he raced to stop a catastrophic leak inside the exhibition hall, attempting a risky manual seal against impossible odds.

As he pressed the experimental gasket into place, a freak electrical surge forced Greg to infuse all the gadgets’ properties, altering his senses and physical form. He emerged as Gasketron – an extraordinary being whose touch could seal any gap, mend any rupture, and channel the energies of pressure and protection.

With enhanced instincts, Gasketron can sense stresses and weaknesses in any structure – reshaping ordinary materials into seals of pure force. At The Gasket & Seals Show, this hero reminds all: the smallest parts can be the ultimate defenders of integrity.

Synthea: The Mind Within the Matrix

Before her transformation, Sophia Castillo was a humble electronics recycler, passionate about reducing tech waste and discovering new value in discarded silicon chips. While volunteering at the Silicon Expo, she unearthed an ancient silicon wafer hidden inside a retired supercomputer – a relic rumoured to contain self-repairing, self-evolving code from early AI experiments.

During the expo, a cascade failure in the quantum computer systems activated the release of raw silicon-based nanobots from the ancient wafer. Instinctively, Sophia reached out to protect the artifact, causing the nanobots to completely swarm and infiltrate her body and mind.

Transformed into Synthea, she became a living network node, capable of transmitting information at the speed of light, decoding encrypted signals effortlessly, and weaving complex algorithms into battle-ready defences or rapid repairs. Her new form shimmered with silicon threads – a living bridge between humanity and the machines they create.

The Silicon Expo embraced Synthea as its living symbol of renewal and connection. Her story inspires people to believe in the endless potential hidden within the smallest fragments of silicon and the future they can build together.

Magnetrix: Warden of the Magnetic Realm

Max Chen was an inventive high school science teacher, beloved for turning complex physics into hands-on learning. During an experiment which saw students building sustainable maglev transit models using repurposed magnets, a ground-breaking demonstration went wrong.

A prototype superconductor – housed in a flawed magnetic containment unit began overheating. As the stray magnetic fields became more powerful, Max rushed to salvage the melting prototype. When he reached for it, an explosion of magnetic energy surged through him, altering his very physiology.

Max awakened as Magnetrix, deeply connected to the world’s magnetic currents. He could sense the hidden flows beneath the earth, manipulate metallic objects from afar, and even generate dazzling auroras that shielded those nearby. As Magnetrix, he became a living conduit between the planet’s natural magnetism and the technological marvels of tomorrow.

Magnetrix now lives to educate and protect, patrolling The Magnetics Show as a symbol of discovery and responsibility. He inspires the next generation to respect invisible forces and imagine new ways to unite science with everyday life for the benefit of all.

Lumina: The Adaptive Spark

Natalia Petrova was a visionary computational chemist, famous for developing algorithms that simulated the unpredictable behaviours of high entropy alloys. At the High Entropy Alloy Expo, she revealed a unique VR experience, allowing visitors to ‘enter’ a virtual world and interact with alloys at the atomic level – a perfect blend of science and imagination.

As Natalia prepared for her keynote, a software glitch caused the VR system to interface unexpectedly with a prototype alloy, blurring the lines between simulation and reality. When she stepped into the VR chamber wearing Metagloves, a colossal wave of feedback fused virtual and physical worlds – merging her atoms with the alloy at their core.

Transformed, her body now contained shifting lattices of metals, constantly evolving and adapting. Now reborn as Lumina, she can alter her structure to be flexible or strong, absorb and release energy as bursts of iridescent light, and even interface mind-to-mind with technology or metal objects around her.

Lumina is a proud symbol of the High Entropy Alloy Expo, encouraging others to embrace bold experiments, have resilience, and stay open to unexpected connections in both materials and life.
