Tape and Functional Film Expo , Tessella The Layered Sentinel

Tessella: The Layered Sentinel

Before her transformation, Leah Tanaka was a gifted inventor famous for designing ultra-thin, multifunctional films for applications in medicine, aerospace, and robotics. In preparation for The Tape and Functional Film Expo, Leah created a revolutionary adhesive film capable of instant healing and energy transfer – designed to bond fractured surfaces and enhance their performance.

During a high-profile experiment, an accidental overload of kinetic energy sent shards of broken equipment flying around the room. Leah instinctively shielded a group of visitors with her new film, only to witness the material react spectacularly to the stress. The adhesive not only repelled the fragments but wrapped around Leah and welded to her skin, activating an irreversible molecular connection.

Emerging as Tessella, she now possessed command over any layered material – she could generate protective barriers, project flexible ribbons, repair damage instantly, and even combine different films to create new functionalities instantaneously. Her touch could fuse surfaces and manipulate conductivity.

Now the mascot of the Tape and Functional Film Expo, shows the world that strength lies in the power to unite and adapt. Her legacy inspires creators and dreamers everywhere to imagine new bonds, new protections, and limitless potential within every layer.
